White Pines Inn, located within White Pines Forest State Park in Northwestern Illinois, is less than two hours west of Chicago, but seems a world apart.
Hidden away in a place that seems like time forgot, discover the historic lodge restaurant, pioneer guest cabins, delightful country gift shop, and entertaining dinner theatre that make up White Pines Inn. This family-run resort is surrounded by the beauty and splendor of White Pines Forest State Park . . . with its moss-covered hiking trails, bubbling streams, rugged limestone outcroppings, and ever-present wildlife. The park is one of Northern Illinois' most dynamic and beautiful regions. All of the hand crafted log structures were built by the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) work camp in the mid 1930's. Instead of building costly bridges, the CCC men created "fords" so some of the roads in the park go right through the creeks which remains today as one of the park's most unique features.
The "Pines," as it is affectionately called, is a place of simple pleasures — like catching lightning bugs on a starlit night, or watching a fawn play innocently in a meadow. It's a place to catch the wondrous scent of the lush pine forest, and a place to spend quality time with family and friends.
Experience the Pines.
