By Thanksgiving, the lodge’s restaurant and adjoining gift shop are decorated inside and out, complete with frosted window panes and thousands of twinkling lights. With a fire blazing in the hearth, the scent of spiced apple cider in the air, and the welcoming, friendly staff, there is a sense of nostalgia in the charming, historic Inn making it the perfect location for your holiday festivities. Families gather for holiday meals reminiscent of times spent at grandma’s and the Inn over the river and through the woods!
Now that White Pines has expanded with the addition of the LaBranche Banquet Facility in the nearby small town of Polo, there is plenty of room for some of the area’s largest parties. The Inn is closed in January and February each year due to it originally having been built as a summer camp (the water pipes have been known to not do well in the coldest winter months). However, LaBranche remains open for large events including winter weddings. At LaBranche there are two banquet rooms: The smaller Woodbury Room is ideal for ceremonies with a reception in the adjoining Woodhaven Room. A large stacked limestone fireplace surrounded with comfy lounge chairs provides an ideal gathering place when it’s cold outside. Throughout the building are six faux fireplaces built into columns which also create a warm and inviting ambiance.
