Tucked away just 250 feet from the ocean in the romantic resort town of Tamarindo, is Casa Tapada, a private, romantic condo. Tamarindo is on the northwestern coastline along the Pacific Ocean. White Pines Bridal Consultant, Beth Henderson, acts as travel agent for this honeymoon. She and her husband Dennis designed and built Casa Tapada. Your host while in Tamarindo is Chad Gaston, Beth and Dennis' son. costarica2.jpgHe is the owner of Casa Tapada and Iguana Surf, which is a surf shop and tour business. Casa Tapada is located on his property and he and his staff will be available to assist you, answer questions and show you the favorite local spots. It is a real comfort for couples and their families to know they are in familiar hands even as they leave the country.

Costa Rica is currently America’s number one choice for a tropical honeymoon. Honeymoons can be scheduled anytime except January and February, and do not have to be scheduled immediately after the wedding. It is not advisable to travel during their rainy season, approximately August 15 - November 20.

Prices are good for up to 1 year after a White Pines Wedding.

  • The country is considered one of the most bio-diverse regions in the world and has captivated lovers of nature and eco-tourism for decades.
  • There are 20 national parks in this tiny country the size of Virginia, and a wealth of other protected areas.
  • A Passport is required to enter the country. No shots or immunizations are required.
  • Most major credit cards are accepted as well as traveler’s checks.
  • Costa Rica’s government is a democracy.
  • They have no military and the United States are their allies, protectors and friends
  • You can trade the U.S. dollar. Their currency is known as Colones
  • You can drink the water - not that it is necessarily recommended!
  • The electricity is the same as the U.S. so blow dryers and curling irons will work!
  • There are 2 international airports. One is in San Jose, the capital city (5 hours drive from Tamarindo) The other is in Liberia which is a 1 hour drive from Tamarindo.
  • United, Delta, American Continental and Northwest are currently airlines flying to Liberia.
  • The population of this mountainous Central American country is 4 million.Two and a half million live in San Jose which means most of the rest of the country is very sparsely populated.
  • There are 100,000 US citizens currently living in Costa Rica.
  • The people of Costa Rica are lovingly nicknamed Ticos. They are a very friendly and generous people.
  • Spanish is not a requirement, English is spoken almost everywhere
