Swedish Massage is the most commonly offered, best-known type of massage, and is the basis of most types of massage modalities. It uses firm but gentle pressure combined with gliding strokes to promote relaxation and ease muscle tension. It is also known to improve circulation and muscle tone. A one hour massage will include head, face, neck, shoulders, arms, legs, feet, and back. The amount of pressure is based on client comfort and can be adjusted at any time. It is a great way to relax and unwind your mind and body.
Hot Stone Massage - Hot smooth Basalt stones are placed on key point of the body melting away tension. In combination with Swedish massage the stones help loosen tight muscles and allow the therapist to apply deeper pressure.
Fire Cupping is a traditional method of relieving local congestion by applying a partial vacuum within the cup to draw skin and underlying tissue into the cup. Conditions that can benefit from cupping include headache and back pain, muscular pain, common colds, insomnia and asthma.
Therapeutic Thai Bodywork, or Thai Yoga Massage incorporates gentle stretching, palm, thumb and foot pressure along energy lines, joint compression and decompression, rhythmic rocking, and more. Originating in Buddhist monasteries thousands of years ago, Thai Bodywork, releases energetic blockages, improves flexibility, and restores balance. All stretching and pressure is done within the comfortable tolerance of the client, and the work is performed on a futon on the floor. Loose comfortable clothing is worn throughout the entire session.
Reiki (pronounced Ray - Key) involves a transmission of healing life force energy from the practicioner to the recipient through the palms of the practicioner's hands laid on or over various locations on the recipients body. Reiki addresses physical, emotional, mental and spiritual imbalances by clearing blockages in energy flow. In addition to the laying of the hands, invocation and sweeping techniques are used to further clear the energetic body or aura. A typical treatment leaves the client in a very peaceful, quiet, aligned, relaxed state and awakens the recipient's own healing potential. Introducing White Pines LaBranche - The all new multi room banquet
facility for weddings up to 375 guests all in one spacious room. White
Pines Inn has been bursting at the seams for years with no room for
growth in the state park. "There just hasn't been enough room at the Inn
for the ever expanding wedding business and the ability to host large
events or multiple events on the same day", says owner Beth Henderson.
All that has changed with the addition of a gorgeous 6,000 sq ft. Cedar
Forest building, located just 7 miles west of the White Pines Inn and
Wedding Canyon, in Polo, Illinois. The new facility will offer not just
one more banquet and reception room, but two. Renovations are currently
underway with a completion date planned for early spring of 2011.
Current plans include an all new entrance designed with stone columns
that will include an overhang for the loading and unloading of guests.
New carpeting and dance floors and fountains are also in the plans. The
bar area will be re-designed into a second banquet room and both
banquet spaces will have their own granite and limestone bar
areas."Lighting is really important to me and I believe a key element in
the look we are trying to create", says Henderson. "We are not going
for an over-the-top, outlandish facility, just a place that is
beautiful, warm and inviting and can be used comfortably for all types
of events including wedding receptions, banquets, reunions, proms, and more".
